Export PDF text into an editable Word DOCX
Pull text out of a PDF into Word when you need to reuse wording, not a perfect clone of the layout.
How to convert PDF to Word
This is a text extraction, not Adobe’s layout reconstruction. Multi-column magazines will come out as a reading-order stream. That is still useful for quotes, citations, and editing copy.
Image-only scans contain no text layer. OCR PDF uses Tesseract in the browser to add text; then this converter has something to extract.
Extraction stays on your device. We do not send the PDF to a document AI API.
- Open PDF to Word and add a text-based PDF. Scanned photos of pages need OCR PDF first.
- Click Convert to Word. Text is extracted in the browser and written into a DOCX.
- Open the DOCX in Word. Expect paragraphs and line breaks, not a replica of every column and sidebar.
- For a scanned contract, run OCR PDF, download that PDF, then convert to Word.
What PDF to Word is for
If you only need a few sentences, copy from a PDF viewer. Use this tool when the whole body should land in Word.
- Creates a .docx from extracted PDF text.
- Works best on PDFs that already have a text layer.
- Does not promise identical layout, fonts, or headers.
- Pair with OCR PDF for scans.
- Local processing only.
Privacy for PDF to Word
Text is read in the browser. Hidden optional content that the extractor sees can appear in Word. Check the DOCX before you share it.
